I am currently a student at the University of Worcester, studying for a Marketing, Advertising and PR degree. As part of my Advertising Campaign Strategy course I am required to have this blog where I will discuss what stage I'm in with the preparation of my team's presentation for the AD&D New Blood awards (very exciting!) as well as analyse ads, campaigns and all things related to advertising, either good or bad. This blog will give me a chance to try out my analytical and creative skills improved during the course of my Uni years, using my 'thinking outside the box' approach to advertising and getting a bit of insight about the 'real deal' in the world of advertising.
To start with, I will post an ad which I think is brilliantly creative and at the same time very simple, with no need for any further explanations:
Because toilet paper is a product that advertisers cannot show a direct use of, they have to find distinct, creative and appealing ways to advertise it; and in my opinion, this ad is genius. It is not only funny but also sarcastic in a way that makes people think twice about disregarding the use of paper in the future.
Thoughts on the AD&D brief will be posted shortly and until then I will try to find more creative campaigns and ads and share them.
